Cacao Trail

We will start this trail in the village of Paraiso with a slight climbing of one hour and half, in the middle of a tropical vegetation filled with mangos, coconuts, pineapples and much more.

At 400 meters high, we will follow a small trail during 1 hour, walking on the hills side of the mountain, with always around tropical trees with passion fruits, avocados, cacao, oranges, bananas.

This mountain area is known for the high quality of its cacao production and you will have the opportunity to taste cacao seeds straight from the tree with a unique sweet and sour taste.

We will stop then and have a nice lunch combining sandwiches and a local and rustic meal prepared by your guides.

The trek continues walking down to the river Nizaito, with its typical color blue Larimar. River that we will follow for about one hour and half, until the almost end of this trek. You can refresh yourself or swim inside the fresh river water.

We will pass then, along the small village of Villa Nizao, whose inhabitants, Dominicans and Haitians families live primarily from their production of coffee, cocoa, and oranges. This village is located on the banks of the river which allows all these cultures to grow.

The shaded road then reaches Paraiso after a few bumps!
