The second day is dedicated to exploring the mountains and especially the Mencía gorge with its crystal-clear river, a natural wonder. To conclude, we take you to the desert surroundings of the Jaragua Park in the middle of the cactus, to the incredible “Pozos ecologicos” and their transparent waters. Discover real oases in an environment with extreme dryness.
Day 1: Barahona – Cabo Rojo – Bahia de Las Aguilas – Pedernales
The tour leads to Cabo Rojo. Once there we make our first stop and explore the beautiful coral reefs of the area. Equipped with diving mask, snorkel and fin, we will marvel at the sight of the countless colorful fish that populate here. After this sporting introduction, we will regain our strength with a good lunch in the restaurant La Cueva. Then we continue by boat towards Bahia de las Aguilas, which is considered one of the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic. You will have the opportunity to discover this extraordinary, wild place, a paradise of white sand and crystal-clear waters.
Finally, in the late afternoon, we will take the route to Pedernales to establish ourselves in our hotel. With a dinner in a small restaurant in the city you enjoy the end of the day.

Accommodation: Hotel Casa Oasis **, or similar, Pedernales
Day 2: Hike to Mencia & drive back to Barahona
After a hearty breakfast, a short hike to Mencía begins. We follow a gorge and after a dizzying descent we come to the river, where we can enjoy a cool down. Admire the splendor of the place, especially the incredible turquoise waters and immense roots that fall from the cliffs.
After the hike, we return to Pedernales one last time for a well-deserved lunch. Then we make our way to Barahona, but with a final stop to discover one of the best-kept secrets of the Jaragua Park, the splendid freshwater cenotes called “Pozos ecologicos”.
