Come and discover the Jaragua National Park, known as the biggest of the Dominican Republic, and its spectacular beach “Playa de las Aguilas”.
Playa de las Aguilas was named like this, because of the eagles who were taking refuge in this area. It is famously known as the most beautiful beach of the entire country. The climate is very dry and the vegetation consists mainly of cactus and other desert plants. To discover this paradise for fishermen and for nature lovers of white sand beaches and crystal-clear water, you need to pass through the small village of “La Cueva”, famous for its caves. Is there anything missing for this perfect moment postcard?
The sea is really calm and a delightful wind will help you to not suffer too much from sun and heat.
Be an explorer for one day, with this entirely ecological, natural and totally unspoiled spot. In addition, the Jaragua National Park is habitat for numerous resident, endemic and migratory birds. More than 130 species of birds have been reported in the whole park, 76 are living permanently including 10 endemics, and 47 are migratory birds.
Drive along a beautiful route with breathtaking views of the small port and fishing village Cabo Rojo. In Las Cuevas you will board a boat that will take you on a 15-minute ride to one of the most beautiful natural beaches of the world. The beach of the Bahía de las Aguilas is located in a national park and its sand is pristine and white. The bay is over eight km long.
